Thousands ofGlastonburyrevellers today excitedly headed to Worthy Farm for a feast of music, with some camping in queues overnight.
But after hauling in their four-wheeled trollies packed full of their worldly goods onto the Somerset field in Pilton, they will be hit with the reality of how much it is going to set them back just to be kept fed and watered over the next five days.
They have already shelled out £355, plus a £5 booking fee, for a ticket - a £20 increase on last year's price - and, with most forums estimating a minimum daily budget of £20 on food alone, will fork at least another £100 on grub.
Earlier this week a snapshot of the 'London' drinks prices for this year's festival was branded as'criminal' after fans discovered they would have to shell out £6.75 for a pint of beer.
The cost of keeping their stomachs full while guzzling back on thealcoholwill make a dent in their pockets, too.

According to the prices listed on Uber Eats, revellers will have to pay a minimum of £11.50 for a beef patty topped with American cheese
For those fancying a taco, Mexican Seoul's spicy pork belly or bulgogi beef will set them back at least £10.50
Vegetarians will be able to save a quid with the spicy tofu (not pictured) costed at £9.50

There are more than 300 food stalls at the 900-acre site, with cuisines from across the globe on offer to sample - from American, Canadian and British food to Thai, Korean, and Indian.
While free water stations are dotted around the field to ensure people stay hydrated.
Last year some revellers were left irate as they accused some of the stalls of doubling their restaurant prices 'just because it's Glastonbury', reported The Mirror.
MailOnline scoured some of the vendors' websites to get a flavour of how much revellers will be charged.
For those fancying a taco, Mexican Seoul's spicy pork belly or bulgogi beef will set them back at least £10.50, according to prices listed on its website.
Vegetarians will be able to save a quid with the spicy tofu costed at £9.50.
Elsewhere, fans wanting to get a taste of Sri Lanka can head to the Hippy Happy Hoppers stall and expect to pay at least £8 for a hopper (a Sri Lankan coconut-laced, rice flour pancake).
The most expensive is £10 for a 'sweet and tangy' chicken curry or the peanut butter and aubergine curry will cost the same.

According to the prices listed on Uber Eats, revellers will have to pay a minimum of £11.50 for a beef patty topped with American cheese.
Fries alone are charged at £4, while a meal deal for one (burger, fries and drink) is usually £20.
An insider on the site is said to have taken a sneaky snap of the Village Inn bar to show what prices Glastonbury revellers will have to pay this year
Glastonbury erupts as St Elton John plays on the Pyramid Stage during Glastonbury Festival in 2023
For those with tighter purse strings Glastonbury has been offering 'affordable food' since 2015 with this year's festival having 300 stallholders serving dishes for £6.
Those hoping to be kitted out in official Glasto memorabilia will have to delve even deeper into their pockets, with items on the festival's website including a £24 fine boneChinamug and a £18 baby-gro to dress their bundle of joy in garb made of fairtrade cotton.
A £150 limited edition organic cotton Glastonbury blanket adorned with Stanley Donwood's artwork appears to be most extravagant of purchases.
The jacquard weave stitched blanket promises to 'create a heavyweight but breathable blanket' and can be used as a rug or even put up on the wall.
Meanwhile, an insider on the site is said to have taken a sneaky snap of the Village Inn bar that appeared on X/ Twitter account Glastobation.
The eye-popping prices left many in a state of shock as they rushed to brand them as 'insane' and 'criminal' with the starting price for a pint of beer £6.75, while a bottle of wine costs a staggering £30.
They are a slight increase on last year's mammoth prices of £6.50 and £29, respectively.
A bottle of Prosecco will set festival-goers back £43.50, more than three times the amount for a bottle of Freixenet Prosecco which retails at £12.
Meanwhile, those who prefer spirits will have to pay out a minimum of £12.50 for a double and a mixer, with the maximum appearing to be a double spirit and Red Bull for £13.50.
An Aperol Spritz is the priciest co*cktail at £12.50 with a p*rnstar Martini costing £9.50.
A 250ml Red Bull energy drink is priced at £4.75 alone - a 197 per cent increase on the £1.60 retail price.
Others were left enraged by the £2.50 price for a can of water - although there are free water drinking points at the site.
X/ Twitter users were left outraged by the price list with it being labelled 'criminal' to charge £2.50 from some water
There are more than 100 bars on the festival site with the Village Inn sitting to the left of the Pyramid stage.
X users have been left flabbergasted over the inflated prices with one writing: '£2.50 for a can of water is criminal.'
Another wrote: 'Some of those prices are insane. 43 quid for a bottle of wine! You can buy a quality vintage for that money.'
A third posted a laughing emoji alongside a message that read: '£6 for a pint of co*ke.'
'Drink prices at events these days are ridiculous,' another raged.
'They've basically doubled in about 4 years. I'm taking multiple coolboxes and frozen water bottles and will buy extra ice on Sunday. Last year only bought 3 drinks and had coldies all festie. No queues either!'
But others didn't seem too bothered with one punter saying it was better than at his local.
While another pointed out that the money went to a good cause, saying: 'Not bad prices compared to stadiums also the money goes to workers beer company. Great organisation'
The prices are a slight increase on the Glastonbury bar price list from last year (pictured) when spirits cost up to £13 and the cheapest beer was £6.50

Last year revellers hit out at the £6 cost for a paltry portion of chips with a security guard working at the festival describing the price for 'rosemary salted' fries as 'daylight robbery'
2023 -- All double shots at this bar in the grounds cost £10
2023 -- A steak salad cost festival-goers £15, while a steak sandwich was £14
2023 -- Food stalls were charging £15 for a burger and chips, or £18 for a double burger and chips
Last year, Glastonbury festival-goers were left stunned by exorbitant prices after being charged £8 for a small, sorry-looking portion of chips - days after punters complained over 'London pub' beer prices.
According to Glastonbury's website, food and drink costs at the festival are the equivalent of London prices.
But revellers have been left shocked as food stalls are charging £15 for a chicken burger and fries - or £18 for a double.
When told the price of a portion of the chips, a middle-aged festival-goer said: 'Oh dear me.'
He added: 'You've really got to enjoy them at that price.'
A security guard working at the festival described the price of a portion of the 'rosemary salted' fries as 'daylight robbery'.
Another reveller laughed when told the price and added: 'They better be f***ing amazing for that.'
This food stall is situated in an area only available to people who have paid for the elevated 'hospitality camping'.
